The vessel had embarked from Falmouth, England, and having passed around Cape Cod was bound for the Virginia colony; Gosnold did not go ashore, but was the first to chart the island.s location.a remote remnant of "the glacier's gift."

As the name suggests, there is an Italian ring to the menu, but Cioppino's is Mediterranean and New American, with lots of style and eclecticism" - The Quarterly Review of Wines

The Club Car (508)228-1101, 1 Main Street
"Near the waterfront with a ringside seat on Nantucket's Main St., this well regarded restaurant skillfully combines casual dining and elegant eating. The menu is rich and varied-you may find anything from rabbit to octopus- and the food is consistently excellent. If your budget is tight, have lunch at the bar in season. If, however, rack of lamb is a favorite of yours, just remember that you live only once…" -Insiders Guide, Cape Cod and the Islands 6th edition, by Erica Bollerud
