THE MONTH OF MAY
Nantucket real estate sales trends are continuing on the same path that we have seen since the beginning of the year. Transaction volume is up 12 percent, yet dollar volume is down 14 percent. The dollar trend is improving, as dollar sales were off 16 percent through April 30, 2011. Great Point Properties will take the glass half full approach, and be heartened by the higher transaction volume. With Summer approaching, we expect activity at the higher end of the market to pick up. If that occurs, the Nantucket real estate market should show a slight improvement from 2010. All things considered that will definitely be more than a glass half full. In Great Point Properties upcoming July report, we will include a full analysis of the first half of 2011.
