Miacomet
Miacomet is a quiet south shore location nestled between Cisco and Surfside. People “in the know” sneak to the Miacomet beaches because they are often more quiet. Miacomet encompasses part of Bartlett Farm, the golf course, Miacomet Pond and stretches as far south as Bartlett Rd.
Hummock Pond
This is an area that some might consider the best of both worlds. Loosely, it refers to the space midway from Town and Cisco and up to the entrance road of Bartlett Farm and Cisco Breweries, the gateway to Cisco proper. Hummock Pond itself is a lovely long body of water home to Bufflehead ducks, kayakers and it overlooks Sanford Farm, 780 acres of conservation land.
Quidnet
If you are looking to get away from the bustle of Town and South Shore beaches crowded with college kids, Quidnet may be the spot for you. A quaint little village between Sconset and Squam/Wauwinet, it is perfect for a family getaway. It is also a local favorite hotspot for surfcasting for striped bass as well.
Polpis
Polpis is one of the most rural areas on Nantucket, often accentuated by the oldest deciduous growth on the island. Along the eight-mile Polpis Road are old farming houses that have been converted into casual summer homes with the same wide-open spaces of yesteryear surrounding them.
Pocomo
About eight miles from town, the long, straight stretch of Pocomo Road is found off the Wauwinet Road turnoff from the Polpis Road. Estate style homes, many of which boast second floor decks, are pushed back from the road and prominently placed on the bluff looking over the harbor to Coatue and Nantucket Sound.
Cisco
Cisco is located in the southern central portion of Nantucket Island. Cisco stretches from the South Shore beaches to Hummock Pond (east) to Bartlett Farm (west) and as far north as the Cemetery. More specifically, Cisco is commonly known as a South Shore beach that is a popular Surfing destination.
Surfside
The Surfside area is one of the most popular areas of Nantucket. Surfside is a neat beach community with access to many of the south shore beaches. The beaches in Surfside are Nobadeer (a popular “younger” beach), Fisherman’s, a quieter local beach), Point of Breakers (one of the few spots that you can drive on to the beach) and Surfside proper- a very busy, popular destination.

Dionis
Nestled just off the junction of Cliff and Madaket Roads and down Eel Point Road, Dionis offers the peace and seclusion of yesterday’s Nantucket. Named after the wife of one of the first settlers, Tristram Coffin, the community in Dionis is one that enjoys relaxation and the pristine environment.
Cliff
Located just west of the Town of Nantucket, the Cliff, is some of the most coveted real estate on the island. The draw for many is the proximity to Town, ease of access and the short distance to calm water North Shore Beaches.
