The Nantucket Food and Wine festival is favorite amongst locals, summer residents and food lovers who flock to the Island for a weekend of culinary experiences, wines from 154 vineyards, and 50 + events over 4 days. Vintners, restauranteurs, and world class chefs gather as the White Elephant transforms for the weekend to house events and tastings. We have picked out some of our favorite events and restaurants to visit this weekend.

Opening this week for their 42nd Season, Straight Wharf Restaurant integrates the culture of Nantucket island, re-interpreting summer classics as food you’d like to eat at the beach, and serving it with a great sense of warmth & hospitality. An NWF staple they will be hosting a wine dinner featuring the portfolio of Jorge Ordoñez on Friday May 19th. We look forward to dining with them this season.
Harbor Gala Event Thursday May 18 6:00pm – 9:00pm
This signature event exemplifies the elegance and extravagance of the Nantucket Wine and Food Festival. Featuring 40 Restaurants and 40 Wineries this is the kick off event! Renowned winemakers from around the world present their wines paired with dishes created by award-winning chefs from Nantucket, Boston, New York and around the country. Enjoy exquisite food and wine pairings in the tents along the harbor at the White Elephant – the most exquisite setting for this prestigious event. Enjoy music by the City Winery Marching Band on the deck and pop in to the VIP Lounge for some special tastes.
Lobster and Bubbles: Champagne et la Mer Friday May 19th 1:00pm – 2:30pm
A Harbor Dream Come True: Veuve Clicquot by the Sea – What could be better than lobster and champagne on Nantucket Harbor? Join us for this decadent pairing featuring passionate personalities that will keep you engaged and entertained. Veuve Clicquot Winemaker Dominique Demarville will take you on a journey through the production and unique flavor profiles of three VCP Cuveés: Yellow Label, Vintage and Rosé. Paired perfectly with this bubbly presentation is the cuisine of Chefs Brian Alberg of the Red Lion Inn and Kevin O’Donnell of SRV. Together, these talented luminaries will lead us in lively conversation and a delicious combination of two of our most cherished indulgences: Champagne and Lobster.

Culinary Tent Saturday May 20th 9:00am – 5:00pm
The All-Access Culinary Tent Pass gives you admission to Harbor Breakfast and the Culinary Marketplace on Saturday. For a one-time fee , you can come and go as you please all day long!
Start your day off right with The Harbor Breakfast. Enjoy a Bloody Mary brought to you by Tito’s Vodka or a Mimosa as the NWF Chefs provide you with an incredible variety of breakfast delicacies. Enjoy freshly baked breads, pastries and gourmet bagels, along with fresh brewed coffee, teas, and juices. Don’t miss the omelet bar hosted by culinary students from Nantucket and the Greater Boston area, and artisan samples from local and regional vendors. Guest chefs take the stage with cooking demonstrations featuring their favorite breakfast recipes. Join chef and cooking instructor Annie Copps as she emcees the morning and introduces the chef talent.
In the afternoon, visit Culinary Marketplace for an afternoon of cooking demonstrations, food sampling, libations, shopping and entertainment. Our interactive tent is host to live cooking demos from some of the NWF’s local, regional and national chefs; exhibitors and vendors offering artisan food samples; book-signings by major wine critics, chefs and authors; and engaging activations along with live music from the City Winery Marching Band all day long!
Culinary Demonstrations include: Celebrity Chef Linkie Marais, Chef Brian Mercury of Oak + Rowan, Chef Terence Feury of Forty 1° North, Chef Neil Hudson of Bartlett’s Farm and Chef Jose Enrique of Jose Enrique.
