Nantucket by Design August 1st-4th
At the height of Nantucket’s summer season, the Nantucket Historic Association celebrates the island’s unique influences on American design. Enjoy engaging lectures, lively panel discussions, and both intimate and grand gatherings. This is the NHA’s major summer fundraiser. For more information click here.
Nantucket Preservation Trust August Fête August 9th
The August Fête, one of the summer’s most memorable evenings, is more than a party—it is a celebration of Nantucket’s architecture and neighborhoods. Event attendees will tour historic island houses in the School Street neighborhood and enjoy an outdoor tented reception at the Old Schoolmaster’s House (3 Charter Street). The event will offer delicious, hearty hors d’oeuvres and a raw bar provided by Nantucket Catering Company, live music by the Shep Cats, and a unique Sense of Place Exhibition / silent auction featuring work by island artists and artisans. Nantucket Summer Antiques Show August 10th-13th
The show consists of 32 fine antique dealers from the US and abroad offering antiques in every category that are sure to thrill investors. The Antiques Council, a not for profit organization, is committed to supporting charitable organizations that benefit the Island of Nantucket, its history, and its architecture. For more click here.
Boston Pops on Nantucket August 11th
The 22nd annual Boston Pops concert at Jetties beach benefits Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Experience outstanding music by the Boston Pops paired with RAIN, A Tribute to the Beatles, and a stunning fireworks show on one of Nantucket’s famous beaches. Nantucket Race Week August 11th-19th
Nantucket Race Week is nine days of regattas, awards ceremonies, and parties hosted by Nantucket Yacht Club and Great Harbor Yacht Club to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing. Nantucket Race Week is proud to be a Clean Regatta as certified by Sailors for the Sea. Tim Russert Summer Groove to Benefit the Boys & Girls Club August 18th
Growing up as a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Buffalo, New York, Tim had a passion for Boys & Girls Clubs. He was also passionate about Nantucket and the island’s youth. He believed in giving back to the community, and did so with great pleasure. Tim was an active part of the Summer Groove event committee each year and was instrumental in its success as a fundraiser. As Master of Ceremonies, he always donned a Nantucket Boys & Girls Club t-shirt. He encouraged guests to be festive, and most importantly, generous to the Club. To get involved click here.
Swim Across America August 25th
Swimmers of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in Swim Across America’s annual Nantucket Island Open Water Swim. This event takes place at Jetties Beach and supports cancer treatment and patient care on Nantucket Island. For more information click here.
