Virtual Nantucket Wine Festival

To kick off our Virtual Wine Festival, we went to the wine experts at Épernay Wine and Spirits for a tasting with Advanced Sommelier, Jenny Benzie. Today we are tasting a Wine Festival favorite, Château Minuity Rosé from Provence, an ideal wine for everyday drinking. The flavor is crisp and round on the palate with notes of citrus and apricot. To round out the virtual tasting, Jenny recommends the Cru Cookbook with curated recipes and wines that will give you the feeling of being back at 1 Straight Wharf enjoying a cool Nantucket breeze. If you are not on Island, Chef E.J. Harvey demos how-to cook the perfect SeaGrille Shrimp Scampi from your kitchen. To complement the dish, Chef recommends Trimbach’s Pinot Gris. The SeaGrille Shrimp Scampi (Serves 4)

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 16 U12 Shrimp
  • 16 Cherry tomatoes 
  • 1 shallot – diced 
  • 2 Garlic cloves – minced
  • 1 tbs Parsley – chopped 
  • 1/4 tsp Chili Flakes
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 oz White wine 
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • 2 handfuls Spinach
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water
  • 1/2 lb dried linguine 
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Basil
