Explore Cliff!

West of Brant Point, the coveted Cliff area has grown in popularity in tourism and real estate over the years due to its accessibility to town, conservation land, and calm water beaches. West of Brant Point, this picturesque area is popular for homeowners and summer renters and is easily one of the most sought-after areas of Nantucket.

Cliff Attractions

Tupancy Links, a former nine-hole golf course now serves as a preserved area donated to conservation land that can be enjoyed as a walking trail with your furry friends. It has beautiful views overlooking Nantucket Sound. Offering just under two miles of trails overlooking the north shore, Tupancy Links is located at 165 Cliff Road. Tupancy is easily accessible by car, or by convenient bike paths to and from town. Just beyond the entrance to Tupancy Links, find Maxcy Pond, an additional Nantucket Land Bank property, ideal for kayaking, fishing, picnicking, and enjoying your surroundings.

Great Point-er: Maxcy Pond was previously owned by the Nantucket Angler's Club, which stocks the pond with trout early every Spring. If you're into pond fishing or are looking for a Spring activity, Maxcy Pond is a great place to wet a line!

If you’re looking for a casual stop to refuel between Tupancy Links and the beach, stop at Something Natural, one of Nantucket's beloved sandwich shops. They offer picnic-style outdoor dining and takeout. You can find their iconic Portuguese bread, cookie dough, and other treats at their store or in Stop & Shop. End the day with dinner and an epic sunset at Galley Beach, one of Nantucket's most luxurious waterfront restaurants since the 1920s. Guests can sit directly on the sand overlooking Nantucket Sound on the northwest shore.

Cliff Beaches

Cliff Beach is located on the north-facing coast overlooking Nantucket Sound. The white sandy beach is edged by dunes and offers easy public access from Nantucket Beach Club. Steps Beach is just a short bike ride away and offers gentle surf and a sandbar, perfect for families and small children. One of the most picturesque island spots, enjoy views of Nantucket Sound and Great Point on clear evenings. Washing Pond Beach also called “Water Tower Beach” has tide pools and gentle waves, and is known for good shelling. There is parking for about 25 vehicles and partial bike path accessibility off Cliff Road.
