Edward's grandparents came to Nantucket in the 1920's, establishing a summering tradition for both his mother's and father's families. He broke tradition by moving to the island year-round in the early 1970's. He has served on the Nantucket Zoning Board of Appeals, served as Chairman of the Nantucket Community Plan Steering Committee, and also Chaired the Mid-Island Area Plan Work Group. He loves to sail and play golf and is a connoisseur of fine rums, a taste acquired from sailing through the Caribbean islands.
