Dawn was raised on Nantucket and has been back on Island full time since 2000. Dawn graduated from UMASS, Amherst with a degree in Economics with a concentration in

Dawn married Michael Holdgate, a native Nantucketer and local business owner, in September of 2004, they just celebrated their 11th anniversary. They are proud parents of Kenneth Holdgate and Elissa Holdgate. Dawn served as a Commissioner on the Historic District Commission for 12 years. She is currently serving on the Nantucket Board of Selectmen. She was formerly the Chairman of the Nantucket Association of Real Estate Brokers Education Committee and a board member of Housing Nantucket.
