April 23 - April 25, 2010 - Daffodil Weekend

To celebrate the blooming of over 3 millions Daffodils and spring!  A weekend full of activities with the grand event held on Saturday, the Annual Antique Car Parade -After winding through town and across the island to the charming village of Sconset, participants join residents and visitors for the Annual Daffodil Tailgate Picnic.

The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will be performing again on Jetties Beach to benefit the Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Tickets are now limited to 8,000 to keep the size of the crowd in line with the beach capacity. Reserved tickets are now on sale online only. August 21, 2010 - 37th Annual Sandcastle and Sculpture Day - Jetties Beach 

A late-summer ritual for some, families and teams return year after year to vie for top honors. The rules are simple - be creative!!! Tools, building aids, ornaments and decorations may be used but are not supplied. Contestants are urged to work with biodegradable items and must take away any non-biodegradable items used. Pre-registration is necessary and should be completed at the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce office located at Zero Main St before noon on 8/20/2010.
