This vacation rental is a beautiful get away within walking distance (about twenty minutes by path or dirt road) of one of Nantucket Island's most beautiful and private South shore beaches. There is great surfing and fishing and swimming at the beach. It is one of the least traveled beaches on Nantucket even during the heart of the summer. It is a good idea to have a car but the bike path and the shuttle to town runs on the main road a mile from the house. The sunsets are spectacular.

First Floor

Nicely furnished with modern and antique furniture and beautiful artwork . Chef's kitchen with Viking range and wood floor opens to living /dining room with seating for twelve at cherry dining table. South facing sundeck with grill is off the kitchen/dining area.A covered deck is off the living room and a nicely landscaped and very private yard with a rope hammock. There is also an outdoor shower on a small deck off the mudroom /laundry room which has a full size washer and dryer and separate sink.

Second Floor

Master bedroom has king bed and private west facing deck with sunset and distant but beautiful ocean views. Master bath has large soaking tub, separate large shower and Vermont slate floor.Second bedroom on top floor with Queen bed shares full bath with small bedroom with a single bed. Large bedroom with pine floor above garage and either king or three single beds is connected to main house via mud room and works well for a couple or as kids room.

Secluded and wild, Madequecham beach can be reached with a drive down dusty Bunker Road. The waves here are sometimes surf-able, other times gentle, and the bluff itself is high enough to act as a natural buffer against off-shore breezes.
