Getting to Nantucket

HY-LINE CRUISES Hy-Line Cruises' high-speed ferry is a passenger-only fast ferry that runs multiple daily trips between Nantucket's Straight Wharf and Hyannis (Ocean Street Terminal). The route takes roughly an hour one-way. In addition to the Hyannis-Nantucket route, Hy-Line also offers a daily Nantucket-Martha’s Vineyard route during the summer. THE STEAMSHIP AUTHORITY The Steamship Authority operates the only vehicle ferry service between Hyannis and Nantucket. This trip takes roughly two hours and fifteen minutes one-way. The Steamship also runs a high-speed ferry between Hyannis and Nantucket, offered from the middle of April until the end of December. SEASTREAK Seastreak is a new ferry line offering service seven days a week from New Bedford to Nantucket and a weekend schedule between NYC and Nantucket. They operate seasonally, May 18th – September 5th. Please visit their website for more information or to buy tickets.

CAPE AIR Cape Air is one of two local airlines that has multiple daily flights to and from Hyannis on the hour. In addition, there are flights to Boston, New Bedford, Martha’s Vineyard, and other locations depending on the time of year. Please visit their website for the most up-to-date information.
GULL AIR Gull Air now offers limited weekday service between Hyannis and Nantucket starting at just $85 per seat. Currently, flights are available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, flying from Nantucket to Hyannis at 8am, and from Hyannis to Nantucket at 3:30pm.
JETBLUE JetBlue provides seasonal service from ACK to Boston, MA (BOS), Washington-National (DCA), New York City (JFK, and LGA), Newark (EWR) and Westchester County (HPN).
DELTA AIRLINES Delta Airlines provides seasonal service from ACK to New York City (JFK and LGA).
TRADEWIND AVIATION Tradewind Aviation provides seasonal scheduled service from ACK to Westchester County, NY (HPN) and Teterboro, NJ (TEB). They also offer private flight options.
UNITED AIRLINES United Airlines provides seasonal service from ACK to Newark, NJ (EWR) and Washington-Dulles (IAD).
AMERICAN AIRLINES American provides seasonal service from ACK to Washington-National (DCA), Charlotte (CLT), Chicago O'Hare (ORD), and Philadelphia (PHL).
Car Reservations
If you're planning to bring your vehicle to Nantucket, it's crucial to make a reservation in advance with the Steamship Authority, which operates the only vehicle ferry service to the island. For car rentals upon arrival, Avis/Budget Car Rental services are available at the Hyannis Terminal. You can book your rental in advance to ensure a smooth and convenient transition upon your arrival.
Tip #1: If you’re looking to skip the Friday afternoon traffic that can stretch down the Cape, consider taking the CapeFLYER! During the high season, this train travels from Boston to Hyannis with stops in between. This service is only available on weekends. Click here for more information.
Tip #2: There are also ways to get to Hyannis by bus! Plymouth & Brockton and Peter Pan Bus Lines both have routes from Boston Logan International Airport to the Hyannis Transportation Center, which is within walking distance to the Nantucket ferries.

Nantucket Weather Tips
As the saying goes, “Fog Happens” on Nantucket. In foggy conditions, ferries are usually the only way to get here. Nantucket has its own weather (do not rely on mainland forecasts since we are so far offshore). Hence, we recommend using one of the following sites for better prediction of the conditions:
