Bernie Coffin
Bernie was born on Nantucket and has 12th generational history on his father’s Coffin side and his mother’s Hussey’s side. Bernie graduated from Norwich University, Vermont, where he met his wife, Carol. Upon his graduation, Bernie began working at Sconset Real Estate, a family business. He and Carol ran a seasonal office, with winters spent in Vero Beach, Florida. In 1979, Bernie and Carol returned to Nantucket full time, running Coffin Real Estate and Sconset Real Estate. 2014 the Coffins decided to sell their Sconset Real Estate business to Great Point Properties and continue to work for them.
Carol and Bernie have two children and five grandchildren who are able to enjoy Nantucket as a family in the summer.
