Caroline Morris: “Miacomet! I like it there because it is out of the way and in a peaceful setting, they have a great selection of meals, something for everyone in the fam. The patio seating on the course is lovely. And the staff is awesome.”
Bill Liddle: "Galley for a for a beautiful sunset right on the water. They have a great selection of fresh seafood and fine wines. One of the only places on island to eat right on the beach!"
Ethan Ulmer: "Sandbar! 3-5 everyday they have buck and shuck! ($1 oysters) and the best frozen drinks and laid-back beach vibes. Perfect for enjoying the day at jetties and grabbing oysters and a few drinks after a day in the sun"
Nicole Bousquet: “I love Oran Mor! The menu is interesting and creative, the ingredients are fresh and have a unique twist, and the service was wonderful the night we went. The ambiance is tasteful and relaxing! The chef de cuisine / owner, Ned Claflin, a cheerful young local with impressive NYC experience, is on the floor this year, recommending and pouring wine, and talking up his new liquor store on Federal Street, which is also great! I would go there again and again! I also love Straight Wharf, both the dining room and the bar. It never disappoints!”
Ally Ulmer: "My go-to classic summer meal is at Millie’s in Madaket! I always head to the upstairs bar and order chips & guac with a lobster quesadilla. You get the best sunset views from the top floor, and it’s a good way to kick off the summer season. Bonus points if you order a margarita with salt. The proximity to the beach makes it the perfect location to head for lunch or for a sunset stroll on the beach after dinner!"
Laura Belair "My go-to spot for lunch or dinner is Straight Wharf Fish. Tucked behind the Gazebo, it is both a market, offering fresh fish, caviar, artisanal butter, and greens, and a restaurant with a relaxed, coastal vibe. Try for a table on the deck where you can watch boats come and go, although the interior of the restaurant is well-appointed too. As someone who’s gluten-free, finding restaurants that truly understand dietary needs can be a challenge but this place gets it right. I can always count on delicious, safe options here. While they don’t take reservations, their easy-to-use online waitlist moves quickly and helps avoid long lines. It's a wonderful place to experience the best of Nantucket!"
Edona Jakaj: "Millie’s is my favorite restaurant on Nantucket because it combines fresh, flavorful coastal food with a laid-back, beachy vibe. The location in Madaket makes it perfect for grabbing tacos or a cocktail and watching one of the island’s best sunsets. It has a fun, relaxed atmosphere that feels like classic Nantucket, and not to mention some of the best ice cream on the Island right at Millie's Market."
