Daffodil Festival 2026
04/16/2026
Every April on Nantucket, as the flowers bloom and the grasses green, there is one particular flower you will see all over the island: daffodils. In honor of this, the community gets together for a weekend full of fun events. The 50th annual Daffy Weekend will take place on April 24th to 26th, 2026 and we are counting down the days for one of the best times of the year!
Nantucket Historical Association Flower Power Party
To kick off the weekend, the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Flower Power Party. On Friday, from 6pm-8pm, the Nantucket Whaling Museum is transformed into a festive daffy celebration. There will be lite bites catered by Island Kitchen, music from DJ Billy Boss, and dancing! This event is only for attendees 21 and older. Click here to purchase your tickets now!
Antique Car Parade
Check out the line of decorated vintage cars along Main Street, starting at 9:30am. But be ready because the car parade will start at 12:00 pm sharp. Choose a spot somewhere between downtown, the rotary, or all the way to Sconset, because you definitely do not want to miss this! Make sure you bring your cheering voices and be prepared for plenty of honking!
Sconset Tailgate Picnic
After the parade, everyone lines their picnic tables and beach chairs across Sconset with their own food and drinks. It is always such a fun opportunity to mingle with the entire Nantucket Community!
Make sure to stop by our Sconset office at 6 Main Street, Post Office Square, to say hello! We will have snacks and custom GPP swag, and we would love to see you.
Dog Parade
One of our favorite events is when the Nantucket dogs dressed in the most adorable daffodil-themed costumes parade through Children's Beach. You can register your furry friends on Main Street on Saturday morning or at 12:15pm at Children's Beach. The parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. and conclude with awards being given out to the best-dressed, most creative, and most festive participants. All proceeds go to the Nantucket animal shelter, NiSHA, so make sure to show your support.
Daffy Hat Pageant
Do you have the best decorated, daffy-themed hat? Join the Daffy Pageant and show it off! Ribbons are awarded to both adult and youth categories. This event begins on Saturday at 10:00am at Children's Beach. Don’t miss out on seeing all of the elegant or goofy creativity!
Children's Activities
Children's Beach Playground will be the center for all kids’ festivities on Saturday morning. Along with the dog parade and hat pageant, there will be a children's bike parade at 10:30am, where all children are welcome to ride their decorated bikes, scooters, or even wagons! There will also be live entertainment and lawn space for picnics. A perfect location for a family-friendly day.
Daffodil Flower Show
The Nantucket Garden Club hosts the Daffodil Flower Show on Saturday 2-5pm and on Sunday from 10am-3pm at the Nantucket Inn. There will be displays of gorgeous daffodil flower entries, floral arrangements, and photographs. If you are looking for a calm activity, this is definitely the place to go!
Attire
One word: yellow. Whether that be a cute sundress, jeans, or a fully decked out yellow tuxedo, just show off your festivity! We are crossing our fingers for a beautiful sunny day but make sure you keep an eye on the weather.
Recently opened restaurants include Via Mare, or The Whale, Straight Wharf Fish, The Rose & Crown, Toppers at the Wauwinet, and Proprietors. Dine local!
