Dance Festival

This July, a fundraiser will be held for the Nantucket Dance Theater to support dance on the island.

“Featuring a mix of genres from ballet to tap to street dance, this year's festival will offer an expansive view of different expressions of the art form, providing the audience with insight into the different ways emotions can be expressed through movement. With gracious acknowledgment of the work done by the local Atheneum to support dance for the past 15 years, this year's festival will directly support young people on the island as well as the artists that inspire them.”

To kick off the Dance Festival, there will be a celebration at Cisco Brewers on July 6th from 5 pm to 7 pm. Get to know all the dancers that will be teaching and performing over the next few days while enjoying music, dancing, food, and fun.

The main event will occur on the 8th at 7 pm at Mary P. Walker Auditorium with 90 minutes of dance, one intermission, and an opportunity for everyone to get involved! Dancers from the New York City Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Broadway, and beyond will be showcased.

Lastly, a farewell brunch will take place, starting at 10 am, at Nantucket Shipwreck and Life Saving Museum. This is a great opportunity to mingle with the dancers before they leave the island.
