Your Nantucket Rental Guide

Our Seasons and When to Book

The most popular time to visit  Nantucket is typically from mid-June through Labor Day. If you are planning your vacation then, the earlier you book the better the selection of rentals. The “off-season” is typically May to mid-June then after Labor Day through October, there are great rental options that time of year.

Length of Rental

In the high season, properties generally rent for one to two weeks. Rental changeover days are typically on Friday, Saturday or Sunday so please speak with one of the Great Point Properties agents for specific details about the rental.

Rental Payments

Half of the rental fee and $50 service fee are due upon signing. The security deposit, typically 10% of the rental amount, is paid along with the last payment and is held by Great Point Properties. The last payment is made at least 45 days prior to arrival. One-week rentals may require payment in full with the signed lease.

Pets

It can be challenging to find rentals that accept pets, as there are not many that allow Pets during the period of the rental. Please speak to your agent if you are looking for accommodations that will allow pets.

Security Deposits

Security deposits are for damages incurred and are not prepaid rent. Damages are not limited to the amount of the security deposit. Long distance telephone charges, any designated utility fees, excessive cleaning charges, and any damage charges etc may be deducted from the security deposit. Security deposits are held by Great Point Properties. The security less any deductions will be returned no later than 60 days from the date you vacate the rental property.

Arriving at your  Nantucket Rental House

Arrival time for rentals is no earlier than 3:00 pm.

Departing your Nantucket Rental House

Departure time is no later than 10:00 am. Standard process for departure is to leave the property in the condition in which you found it, readying the rental home for the next tenant including beds stripped, linens put into the wash and started, trash placed in bins, recycling separated. A cleaning crew will turn over the property and any cleaning not covered by the homeowner will be a deduction out of the security deposit.
