A quiet neighborhood next to Shimmo with a beautiful backdrop, the views from Monomoy to Town and Coatue are breathtaking. Located along the north shore of the island, Monomoy offers high-end residential homes, many with direct beach access. Monomoy offers a feeling of the classic Nantucket summer vacation, with some of the best shellfishing and boating in nearby Monomoy Harbor. One of Monomoy's newest, and most beautiful attractions is the Nantucket Land Bank's new Creeks Preserve. The Creeks Preserve is an 8-acre property overlooking the Creeks salt marsh, Nantucket Harbor, and beyond, on a clear day. An enjoyable place for a walk, stop by The Creeks Preserve to check out Nantucket from one of its most stunning viewpoints. Conveniently located between Town and the airport, this coveted neighborhood is popular with those who want privacy, convenience, and love the outdoors.
Quiet Monomoy Beach is the perfect beach to launch your paddle board or kayak to explore the calm waters of the harbor and creeks. In the fall, it's a popular destination for scalloping due to the shallow, clear water. In the summer, this beach will be populated with full-on picnic spreads, towels, kids, kayaks, and more.
East of Monomoy Beach is Cathcart Beach, a tiny, secluded driving beach on the shore of Nantucket Harbor, tucked in between Monomoy and Shimmo. Cathcart Beach is accessed via a series of dirt roads and is a great place for a family beach day, but make sure to get there early!
