The Parliament House Originally the home of Mary (Coffin) and Nathaniel Starbuck, 10 Pine Street was an integral part of Nantucket’s early history as an important center of governmental, business and religious activity. Referred to as “The Parliament House” as early as 1676, the original portion of this beautiful and historic building stood in the old homestead region of Sherburne and was later moved in 1820 to its present location. The enlarged house was crafted by the Quaker carpenter, John Folger. The lovely transoms, 12/12 paned windows, and wide plank heart pine flooring that measures between 12 and 20” on average compliment the spacious rooms.
