This Nantucket vacation rental is a lovely cottage in Wauwinet just across the street from the beach. Shared path to the beach. Light, bright and newly renovated, come spend your summers in this absolutely charming cottage by the sea. In the heart of Wauwinet, Gudgeon Cottage is one of seven Crows Nest cottages nestled around a common green and steps from the Atlantic Ocean by way of a shared private beach path. The small town of Wauwinet boasts the historic The Wauwinet, an Inn by the Sea, the Great Point Light House, miles of protected conservation land and beaches and Wauwinet Bay a favorite of wind surfers and sailors.

First Floor

Gudgeon Cottage, a wonderful retreat for a couple or small family, is recently renovated with pine walls and floors, vaulted ceilings and furnishings from the iconic Nantucket Looms. The private master bedroom with queen bed has its own bath with tub/shower. On the other side of the cottage, two guest bedrooms have two twin beds each and a shared bath with shower. Or, clean off from the beach using the mahogany outdoor shower. A front porch, ideal for lounge chairs, looks out over the communal grass area for the kids to enjoy. The back deck, accessed by a French door from the living room, has a gas grill and outdoor dining table and chairs. The deck is extremely private behind high hedges and protected conservation land and is a perfect spot for family dining or quiet reading. Fireplace is not usable and animals are not permitted per the Crow's Nest Association HOA.

What we like about Wauwinet

The only business in the area, the Wauwinet Inn offers fine dining, spa services, exquisite rooms, and boat service to town for their guests and diners. Wauwinet is also where you access Great Point, the peninsula that forms Nantucket’s northernmost tip, and home to Great Point Light. Great Point remains under the protection of the Nantucket Conservation Foundation and the state’s Trustees of Reservations. An excursion along this ever-changing and unspoiled landscape, by boat or via four-wheel-drive vehicle, is a must-see while visiting Nantucket.
