26 Easton Street, Nantucket MA

26 Easton Street, in the heart of Brant Point, sits overlooking the inner harbor and the Town waterfront. The views span from Nantucket Yacht Club out to Shimmo and beyond, offering a panorama of daily waterborne activity. The property features a gracious four bedroom, three and one half bath home. A waterside deck and spacious lawn, running to the water, accents the outdoor living. There is a two car garage and beautiful cutting garden. Luke Thornewill has designed detailed plans for those desiring more expansive living.

FIRST FLOOR

From an attractive entry porch, one enters the foyer. Moving to the right, there is a large formal living room with a fireplace. To the left of the foyer, past a half bath, is a updated kitchen and sitting area. Between this area and the living room is a dining room with a fireplace. Each of these areas have large picture windows offering excellent vistas of the harbor. Off the kitchen area is a first floor ensuite bedroom. There is a second service entrance off the porch that leads into the kitchen.

SECOND FLOOR

From the foyer stairs lead to the second floor landing. There is a laundry area immediately to the right. From a central hallway there are two bedrooms that share an attractively tiled bathroom and the master suite, with abundant closet space, updated tiled bath, and a separate office and sitting room. Edward's grandparents came to Nantucket in the 1920's, establishing a summering tradition for both his mother's and father's families. He broke tradition by moving to the island year round in the early 1970's. In the late 1970's, he started the Sanford Boat Company with his brother and produced 22 Alerion Class Sloops, many of which still sail Nantucket's waters. Edward's real estate career has spanned all facets of the industry. He learned carpentry, owned and managed commercial real estate and the beautiful cottages on Old North Wharf. After receiving a Graduate Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University, he received his real estate license in 1986. He worked for Island Properties, along with Greg McKechnie, until 2003 when he opened Sanford Real Estate. In 2008, he merged Sanford Real Estate with Great Point Properties. Edward has also been involved in a number of island non-profits including the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Nantucket, and the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Nantucket Zoning Board of Appeals, served as Chairman of the Nantucket Community Plan Steering Committee, and also Chaired the Mid-Island Area Plan Work Group. He loves to sail and play golf, and is a connoisseur of fine rums, a taste acquired from sailing through the Caribbean islands.
